Community Services Office
The community services department which is headed by MR M Lutshethu(Acting) offers services which have a direct and immediate effect on the quality of the lives of the residents of Mhlontlo.
The purpose of the Community Services is to provide accessible, affordable, equitable and sustainable services as well as a healthy environment to residents and business operating in the Mhlontlo Municipality.

- To promote a culture of reading and learning
- To ensure that public amenities are improved and well managed
- To reduce number of road carnages on our Public Roads
- To increase Traffic visibility in our Municipal Roads
The community service department is charged with the following services:
- Testing for Drivers’ and Learner Driver’s Licenses
- Registration and licensing of motor vehicles
- Libraries
- Museums
- Public Parks and Amenities
- Halls
- Sport Facilities
- Youth and Gender Development
- Cemeteries
- Waste Management
- Traffic Department Opening at 07:30
- Booking of learners R213 all codes
- Learners Reprint R180
- License code 8 R294
- License code 10 and 14 R345
- Renewal of driving license R216
- PrDP R324, Temporal R96 for both R420
- Printout of license with affidavit for free

Mhlontlo Local Municipality is an administrative area in the OR Tambo District of Eastern Cape in South Africa. Mhlontlo was a King of the Pondomise people during the 19th century.
